Estonian Ministry of Culture is boosting the Estonian creative economy with several development initiatives.

The Ministry of Culture will be dividing four million euros in the first application round for creative industries incubators and development centres. Decisions will be made at the end of the year.

Several centres for creative industries development have been opened in Estonia. The first CI development center was opened in Tartu on 4th of September with more than 10 companies and a set of services offered to wide range of practicioners (www.lmk.ee). The first CI incubator in Tallinn (www.inkubaator.ee) gathers more than 25 companies in an interesting environment around fashion factory. A Creative Area in Rotermann Quatier in Tallinn is a completely private initiative and works as micro cluster with 20 different artists, who have mixed their production space with selling and training spaces.

The Ministry has launched Creative Estonia initiative (www.looveesti.ee) that will soon publish a webpage that will work as a virtual incubator and main channel for information and the organizer of five seminars in towns around Estonia.

The Ministry has also published both the summary of two reports made in June (remapping of CI in Estonia and also recommendations for policy initiatives) and collection of best practices.
